With the initiative of Environment, Forest and Climate Change Affairs Adviser Syeda Rizwana Hasan, land of Chandra forest bit in Gazipur were freed from illegal encroachers on Monday. 

Following the directives of the adviser, a team comprising army and RAB personnel and officials from upazila administration made the forest area free from land grabbers by demolishing illegal establishments from there, said a press release. 

A vested quarter tried to construct a market at the Chandra bit under Kalampur mouza on August 14. They also assaulted officials and employees of the Forest Division while they were preventing them (land grabbers) from constructing the structures.
