BNP has called for prayers across the country on Friday (December 5) for the swift recovery of its chairperson and former prime minister Khaleda Zia, urging worshippers to offer supplications at mosques, temples, churches, pagodas and other places of worship.
BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi announced the programme at a press conference at the party’s Naya Paltan headquarters on Thursday (December 4).
He said the party was requesting people of all faiths to pray in line with their religious traditions for Khaleda Zia’s early recovery.
Earlier on Thursday at 9:20 am, the interim government, through the verified Facebook page of the Chief Adviser, asked that special prayers be offered in all mosques nationwide after Juma for Khaleda Zia’s health.
Khaleda Zia has been admitted to Evercare Hospital Dhaka for 12 days and has spent the past eight days under intensive monitoring in the Coronary Care Unit (CCU). Party officials said her condition remains unchanged. Family sources said she may be flown to London for advanced treatment after her daughter-in-law Zubaida Rahman arrives from London later today.
