After a long hiatus, the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) took to the streets of Dhaka on Friday with a vibrant rally led by BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir. The rally, filled with creative costumes, featured children dressed as BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia, while others wore attire resembling former President Ziaur Rahman.

The most striking aspect of the rally was the dramatic portrayal of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina as a caged "monster," capturing the attention of the crowd and drawing numerous selfies. Positioned in front of Matsya Bhaban, the cage featured a woman dressed to symbolize Sheikh Hasina, complete with sunglasses, horns, exaggerated teeth, and red paint symbolizing blood. Placards attached to the cage bore provocative messages such as, “I sell national interests by joining hands with India’s Modi,” “I lie morning and evening,” “I kill women and children from helicopters,” and “I am the world’s biggest corrupt leader.”

The display was met with chants from BNP supporters calling for justice, including slogans like “Hasina has been exposed” and “We demand the hanging of killer Hasina.” The rally emphasized the party's criticism of Sheikh Hasina's alleged misrule, highlighting the government's authoritarian approach to opposition parties, particularly the BNP, and its perceived disregard for democratic principles and accountability.
