Journalist Ziaul Haque passes away

Ziaul Haque, former senior assistant editor of the Daily Ittefaq, died of old-age complications at a hospital in the capital on Monday.

He was 82.

Ziaul Haque, senior member of Jatiya Press Club, breathed his last at 5.15pm at Bangladesh Specialized Hospital, said a press release of Jatiya Press Club.

He is survived by a son, relatives, colleagues, a host of admirers and well-wishers.

Ziaul will be laid to rest at Kalshi graveyard following a namaz-e-janaza at Journalists Residential Area Mosque in Mirpur after Isha prayers today.

Jatiya Press Club President Farida Yasmin, MP, and General Secretary Shyamal Dutta expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death of Ziaul Haque.

In a condolence message, they prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family members.
