11 shops gutted in Lakshmipur fire

At least eleven shops were gutted in a fire at Joksin Purbo Bazar of Sadar upazila in Laxmipur on Wednesday.

Deputy Director of Laxmipur Fire Service and Civil Defense Station Mohammad Abdul Mannan confirmed the matter.

He said the fire originated from an electric short circuit at a shop of the Bazar around 12:30pm and soon engulfed the adjacent business establishments, as a result eleven shops were gutted. 

Being informed, two units of firefighters rushed to the spot and doused the blaze with the help of locals and affected businessmen after one hour of efforts, he added.
