BNP senior joint secretary general Advocate Ruhul Kabir Rizvi.

BNP senior joint secretary general Advocate Ruhul Kabir Rizvi has declared that July revolution is the awakening of the spirit of the youth and it has introduced new politics in the country.

“The significance of the July revolution is very much deep,” he said Friday while addressing ‘July Uprising Book Fair-2025’ at Bangla Academy in the city.

Those who were involved with the democratic movement for the last sixteen years had to face repression, arrest warrant, remand and the background of the repression had influenced the July revolution, he said.

The nation wanted that the country will be run as per their hopes and aspirations, he said, adding that but the country had never been run as per the people’s expectation.

Propaganda was spread for year after year by the government in the last sixteen years and the autocratic government had tried to control the people’s mind, he said, adding that but the young generation had understood the truth and waged movement against the misrule.
