"With her death, the nation has lost a great guardian," he said, offering condolences to her family, political colleagues, and supporters on behalf of the nation and praying for strength to overcome the loss.

"Khaleda Zia was a most glorious personality in the politics of Bangladesh. Her extraordinary role in the struggle to establish democracy, multi-party political culture, and the rights of the people will remain untarnished in history.

"Her uncompromising leadership against autocracy and fascism repeatedly showed the nation the way to transition from undemocratic situations and provided the inspiration for liberation," he said.

Yunus said the nation would remember her long political career, people-oriented leadership, and role in upholding Bangladesh's independence and sovereignty, adding that the loss of such a leader had created a void.

Calling for unity, he said, "At this mournful moment…let us remain united during this difficult time for the nation. I urge everyone to remain vigilant so that no one can attempt to create instability or sabotage during this time of grief. It is extremely urgent for all of us to play a responsible role at this time."

He also appealed for discipline during funeral and mourning observances.

The chief adviser announced three days of state mourning following Khaleda Zia's death, as well as a one-day general holiday on the day of her namaz-e-janaza.

He concluded by urging citizens to show patience and cooperate with authorities in completing the funeral rites and related formalities.
