President for formulating ‘varsity curriculum’ as per int’l needs

President Mohammed Shahabuddin on Sunday has reiterated his call to formulate the university curriculum as per the demand of the national and international levels as the Bangladesh Open University (BOU) authority handed over its annual report to him.

During the meeting, the President was apprised of various aspects of the university, including its academic and submitted annual report by the BOU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Syed Humayun Akhter, President's Press Secretary Md  Joynal Abedin briefed the newsmen.

The President, also the BOU Chancellor, stressed on amplifying the use of information technology (IT) in the field of higher education, asking the authorities concerned to ensure the maximum use of IT at the grassroots as well.

Noting that there is no alternative to research for the development and progress in the current global context, the Head of the State urged all concerned to ensure quality research in universities.

The secretaries concerned to the Bangabhaban were also present there.
