
Police have detained 18 people in Naogaon on charges of question paper leaks and fraud in the recruitment exams for assistant teachers at government primary schools.
Naogaon District Police Superintendent Mohammad Tarequl Islam revealed the matter at a press conference around 7pm on Friday.
The syndicate of people had made deals with examinees to collect up to Tk 1.8 million per person, promising to provide the question papers.
Police seized 11 mobile phones and Tk 37,948 in cash.
A joint operation led to the arrests in Naogaon town, including the ringleaders of the question paper leak ring, Ahsan Habib and Mamunur Rashid. Among those detained were examinees, fake examinees, and guardians.
On Friday, the recruitment exam for assistant teachers of government primary schools was held simultaneously in eight divisions across the country.
In Chapainawabganj, a female examinee was detained over allegations of using electronic devices during the primary school assistant teacher recruitment exam.
Chapainawabganj Police chief Nure Alam said the examinee used an electronic device to illegally benefit during the recruitment exam.
