The Bangladesh U-17 women's football team will start their seventh edition of four-nation SAFF U-17 Women's Championship campaign when they face host Bhutan in a match scheduled to be held in Changlimithang Stadium at Thimphu today(Wednesday).
The match kicks off at 6 pm Bangladesh time following the day’s another match between India and Nepal in the opening day’s fixture at 3 pm.
Addressing at a four-team pre-match press conference today (Tuesday) in Thimphu, U-17 women’s football team’s head coach Mahbubur Rahman Litu said his girls are improving day by day and expecting a commendable performance in the tournament.
The coach also hoped that his girls would learn a lot from this tournament.
Team’s skipper Arpita Biswas Arpita said they have worked hard in the one and a half month camp for the tournament and would try to play good match by match.
She said they would try to learn something from this tournament and do something good match by match.
Apart from host Bhutan, defending champions Bangladesh, India and Nepal will participate in the regional tournament.
The four nations will play each other twice in the double round robin league format.
Bangladesh will play their second match against India on August 22. Later, the girls will play against Nepal on August 24 and 27, Bhutan on August 29 and India on August 31. All the matches will be held at the same venue.

Yearzan Begum, Meghla Rani Roy, Tania Akter Fomi, Arpita Biswas Arpita, Fatema Akter, Umma Kulsum, Arifa Akter, Mst Almina, Mst Resme Akther, Thuinuye Marma, Sauravi Akanda Prity, Kranuching Marma, Reya, Alpi Akter, Protima Rani Joba Rani, Sorovi Rani, Mamoni Chakma, Ishita Tripura, Purnima Marma and Mst Amena Khatun.
