Over 300 distressed people get food in Rajshahi

Over 300 distressed and low-income people hardest hit by the sweeping heatwave were given food on Monday at the direction of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

Each of them was given a bag containing one kilogram of fine rice, two kilograms of rice, one kilogram of lentil, sugar, vermicelli, flour each, two liters of edible oil and 500 grams of date.

Executive Member of Central Juba Mohila League Dr Anika Fariha Zaman Aurna distributed the food items at Rajshahi Medical College auditorium.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Anika Fariha said Rajshahi City Corporation has been distributing saline and drinking water besides extending healthcare services at ten places simultaneously to mitigate public sufferings caused by the heatwave.
