BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi on Tuesday accused the police and administration of failing to act against individuals who exploit the party’s name for their own interests.

Addressing an emergency press conference at BNP’s Nayapaltan headquarters, Rizvi said,
“Despite repeated requests from BNP to take legal action against criminals and troublemakers, the administration remains silent.”

He emphasized the party’s strict stance, stating,
“There is no place for extortionists and wrongdoers within BNP. Several leaders and activists have already been expelled, dismissed, suspended, or issued show-cause notices.”

Rizvi expressed concern that these internal disciplinary measures have largely gone unreported in the media, and he criticized law enforcement for their apparent laxity.
“Since the interim government took charge, the police and administration have been largely inactive. In some cases, it appears certain elements are deliberately fomenting unrest,” he alleged.

He warned that a growing “mob culture” is emerging due to administrative paralysis and the influence of illicit money and covert activities.
“Under the Awami League’s tenure, black money and underground networks empowered criminals who are now exposed, creating the potential for widespread anarchy,” Rizvi said.

He further accused self-interested groups of orchestrating a coordinated campaign through social media to spread propaganda against BNP.
“The public perceives this calculated misinformation and engineered unrest as a deliberate attempt to obstruct democracy and delay elections,” he claimed.

Drawing parallels to previous government tactics, Rizvi said narratives aimed at postponing elections are being fabricated, echoing strategies from Sheikh Hasina’s tenure.
“Like the strange developments we saw before, attempts are now underway to manufacture justifications for election delays,” he added.
