National Statistics Day observed in Natore

National Statistics Day-2024 was observed in the district on Tuesday for the fourth time in order to make the government statistics more public-oriented and also to reach data to the doorsteps of people.

The theme of this year's National Statistics Day is "Smart Statistics, Stairs of Development" (Smart Parishongkhan, Unnoyoner Sopan).

The Statistics and Informatics Division under the Planning Ministry and the Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics (BBS) observed the day jointly in the district.

On the occasion, a discussion was held at the conference room of the Deputy Commissioner's office this morning.

Deputy Commissioner (DC) Abu Naser Bhuiyan presided over the function.

The speakers said that planning creates a platform for a better life. There is no substitute for quality statistical data in proper planning. We get timely, accurate information through the Census and various ongoing survey activities of the Statistics Department.

Deputy Director of District Statistics Office Krishnapada Sutradhar, in a power-point presentation, highlighted the country's average per capita income, life expectancy, infant and maternal mortality rate, import-export, and domestic production data.

Earlier, a rally was brought out from the collectorate office premises that paraded different streets in the town this morning.
